Place the new gasket and reassemble the rooftop unit wiring and plastic housing.
How to seal an roof top a c unit.
Removing the main unit from the roof.
Not every unit has these but newer models typically do.
The proper way to seal an rv air conditioner is to use a rubber compression gasket placed between the roof of the rv and the air conditioner.
Turn the air conditioner on by putting it on the lowest setting possible.
These are basically sheets of metal which rotate together.
Attach the manifold gauge to the suction side of the unit this is the large copper tubing.
Once you see that it does attach the coolant container to the suction tubing and open it up.
You may also need to reseal an air conditioning unit if it has started to leak.
After you get the air conditioner free from the roof it is time to lower it down off the roof.
Verify that your work sealed your air conditioner by testing it out.
Next position the air conditioner over the gasket and reattach it in reverse order to the rooftop.
The next thing we might find are some dampers.
Reconnect the wiring harness or use wire nuts to join the wires together.
Read the gauge to make sure you need to top up or recharge.
Remove the air conditioning unit placing it on its side and take out the sponge rubber gasket.
When a new unit has been installed it must be properly sealed to prevent leaks.
Once the old gasket is removed and the site is clean place a new gasket over the opening in the roof.
They open fully to allow air to enter the unit or they close to seal the unit and prevent air entering or leaving.
