Under the green homes grant families will receive vouchers of up to 5 000 for energy saving changes such as a new boiler while those on the lowest incomes will get up to 10 000 to help. Alongside the free double glazing they are also offering ventilation units which would enable homeowners to ventilate rooms without needing to open their windows further reducing the impact of the vehicle noise from the roads.

The new scheme called green homes grant scheme allows homeowners and landlords to claim vouchers worth up to 10 000 to install energy saving measures in their homes including for double glazing windows and doors. The scheme should launch in september 2020 with an online application process and is due to close in march 2021.
